Services
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:
Animal Chiropractic Services: We are proud to be the first in our area to offer chiropractic services for our pets. Dr. Jason Lewis is a highly skilled chiropractor who is formally trained in animal chiropractic.
House Calls: We offer house calls in our local area by appointment. This offers your pets our high quality care, even the final goodbye, in the privacy of your own home.
Health Care: Our hospital offers many diagnostic and therapeutic services to meet your pet's health care needs. Our emphasis is on preventative health care to keep your pets healthier and active as long as possible.
Surgical Services: Our new surgical suite allows us to provide a wide variety of procedures, from standard spays and neuters to more complex orthopedic surgeries. By enlisting the services of Steven Cudia, VMD of Veterinary Surgical Services., we make it possible for clients to have many surgies performed here at LOVC that would otherwise necessitate travel to more distant specialty clinics. We require pre-anesthetic bloodwork to ensure, as much as possible, the safety of your pet, and include the use of pre-and post operative pain medications to insure the least amount of discomfort possible for your pet
Anesthesia: Anesthetic drugs utilized at LOVC provide the best margin of safety possible. Your pet's vital signs are monitered during all anesthetic procedures, both by a pulse oximeter (measuring heart rate and respitation) and an assistant, who never leaves their side..
Radiology Services: Our modern digital radiographic equipment provides us the ability to quickly diagnose many disorders, with minimal exposure of radiation to your pet.
Electrocardiography Services: We provide ECG services on-site as well as consultations with cardiology specialists. We are please to offer the services of Eric DeRose, DVM of New Jersey Veterinary Cardiology. As a moblie cardiologist, Dr. DrRose is able to bring his equipment and expertise directly to Lanoka Oaks, allowing your pet to be diagnosed and treated for heart and respiratory diseases without the stress of travel to a specialty facility.
Dentistry: One of the most often overlooked areas of your pet's health is proper dental care. Here at LOVC, our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, digital dental x-rays, tooth extraction and minor oral surgery and all appropriate follow-up care.
Laboratory: Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations. We offer laboratory package specials monthly for additional savings.
Permanent identification: Do you worry that your pet may escape outside without a collar, or worse, lose their collar when outside? LOVC offers easy microchip placement under your pet's skin to provide permanent identification if your pet gets lost. This procedure can be done at any time, and lasts a lifetime
Pharmacy: We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets.
Individualized Flea Control Programs: We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your house, in your yard and on your pet.
Dietary Counseling: We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance. We also carry a full line of diets to meet your pet's dietary and theraputic needs.
Behavioral Counseling: We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.
Boarding: We provide pet boarding (felines only) as a service to our clients. All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff. Pets may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours Monday through Sunday.
Emergency Care: Please call our main telephone number for instructions for after-hour emergencies.
Euthanasia/Cremation Services: When it is time to say goodbye, our staff provides this service peacefully either at our hospital or in your home. If you desire, your pet may be cremated either individually (with ashes returned) or with other pets (ashes scattered). This service is provided by Abbey Glen Pet Memorial Park, a company that has earned our trust for over 20 years. Individual cremations are hand delivered by Abbey Glen.
Public Education: Each month, a free, open to the public, seminar is held to LOVC for community education. Subjects may range from CPR and first aid, thru nutrition and osteoarthritis to zoonoses (diseases contagious between people and pets). In addition, our staff is always available for school presentations, career days, guided hospital tours and other community education.
Staff: The service that we are the most proud of is our staff. They are the warmest, friendliest, most knowledgable staff there is.
